Sr. MySQL DBA/Architect - Staff - San Jose, CA
The global leader in cloud-based interactive television is seeking a highly experienced MySQL DBA/Architect.
Responsibilities include end to end development and database maintenance from schema and datawarehouse design to administering existing MySQL installations.
In this position you will:
o. Team with developers for schema design and complex query development.
o. Monitor database operations and replication.
o. Automate database administration tasks.
o. Analyze and respond to performance and other maintenance issues.
o. Participate in the creation of development, staging & production database instances.
o. Tune the performance of all the staging and production database instances.
o. Perform back-up and recovery.
o. Plan and executes disaster recovery.
o. Perform complex replication troubleshooting.
o. Serve as the point of contact for troubleshooting issues.
o. Ensure implementation of industry best practices in systems administration.
Qualifications:
o. Exceptional database design and MySQL programming skills (Required)
o. Hand-on experience in Linux (Required)
o. Experience administering different table types, especially InnoDB (Required)
o. Experience with MySQL replication and data warehousing (Required)
o. Experience with MySQL performance tuning and optimization (query optimization, index tuning, caching and buffer tuning) (Required)
o. Experience with data profiling, meta data analysis, data modeling and relational schema design (Required)
o. Experience with MySQL stored procedures (Required)
o. Experience troubleshooting problems in person, over the phone, or via email.
o. Solid understanding and experience in disaster recovery, planning and implementation.
o. Experience with Windows, Sybase experience a plus
