Seeking a MySQL Database Administrator for Raleigh, NC

Direct Hire position, Raleigh, NC

The DBA will administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. The DBA will create data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. The DBA will be responsible for advising CTO on capacity requirements for the database. The DBA will also be actively engaged in developing and implementing redundancy plans.

Position Responsibilities

Maintain and develop procedures to ensure security and integrity of the database
Review and approve schema and queries from software developers
Administer and support existing databases while insuring optimized performance, stability, and up time
Consistently analyze performance and architecture to optimize performance and integrity
Participate in the implementation of redundancy plans
Essential Knowledge and Skills

Required:

Advanced knowledge with MySQL 5.X
Experience with InnoDB
Strong Linux/Solaris skills
Proven ability to set up and manage replication databases
Basic understanding of networking

Preferred:
Experience with web servers and server farms
Experience with storage solutions
Works at a smaller to mid size company allow a broader operational view.
